Vacuum forming consists of heating a flat sheet of thermoplastic to a softened state. The sheet is then drawn down over a mold with the assistance of vacuum and sometimes air pressure. After the plastic is cooled the part is removed and trimmed. World Class Prototypes has prototype and production capabilities including mold creation.
World Class Prototypes machine sizes:
Prototype (60” x 120”)
Production (24” x 48”)
WCP has developed a proprietary patented process for vacuum form tooling. This material is proving to reduce cycle times almost in half over conventional epoxy tooling. The tools are also much more durable which means less tooling repairs.
