ABOUT US

World Class Prototypes was created to meet the market's need for fast, unique parts, prototypes, bridge tooling, and low-volume manufacturing. However, we quickly realized that the demand was much greater than we had anticipated. As result, we expanded services and materials to cater to a diverse range of market segments. Despite our growth, we remain committed to our original mission of being a family-oriented business, where our team and clients are all part of the family. We are confident in our ability to provide exceptional service and quality products to our valued customers.

Over The Years

PROGRESS TIMELINE

WCP Logo 8.21.20.png

We started out making urethane castings for a client.  The client actually gave us the machines to make their parts  because they could not make them as good as Jim could!  It was a good partnership and we expanded to serve many other customers.

FOUNDED

polyethylene_rotomold_tanks.png

As we continued to strive to provide our customers with a full prototype shop we found a gap in our prototyping capabilities. With rotocasting we are able to prototype for rotomolding production as well as running low volume production parts that would have otherwise been to expensive to produce.

VACFORMING

The next process that we added to our skill set was vacuum forming. Our customers needs were growing so we had to grow to better serve them.

As 3D printing took off we were the first production installation of Objet printers in the U.S. With this technology we were able to create parts with much finer detail.

FIBER
COMPOSITES

Our customers started coming to us with issues during manufacturing & assembly; We begain making fixtures & nests to make their processes more efficient.

As a natural next step we aquired a 5 Axis CNC Machine which allowed us to machine our own tooling as well as more complex fixtures, models and prototypes.

To close the gap that most prototyping companies ignore we have increased our capabilities which will allow us to provide a low volume production of parts.

At the request of multiple customers we have assimilated Fiber Composite work into our scope of capabilities.

NEW BUILDING

New Building Sketch Rev 2 (9.14.20).tif

As our services grew our need for more space grew as well.  We acquired a building at 400 Center to add to our production capacity.  We continued operations at our E. 32nd St. Location.

We added a mixing machine to the mix again to accommodate the growing needs of our customers with the goal of a single source shop.

With the increase in automotive production  & the added demand for medical, we brought in another material mixing machining to support our customers with accurate and consistent part production.

With the goal of a single source for our customer base, the addition of a paint booth was an obvious next step.  Now we can take a project from start to "finish" literally.
